Looks like you may have something wrong... I found these two discussions on the same topic:

Rodding Roundtable :: View topic - '47 Chevy taillights

Are yours car or truck taillights? I'm thinking they should be two filament... parking lights and brake light / flashed for turn...

I have a 38 Chevy Pickup and it has dual filament blubs in it. Try this web site, may help some.

Well Duke: We've been to Utah the last 3 years and it is our favorite vacation spot. So we'll see.

Re: '47 Chevy taillights

Let me know if you decide to, I will look for you. Thinking about taking the Bucket next year and leave the 38 Chevy at home, might even sell the Chevy - still thinking about it.
