Micky: On the front axles you sold ( I bought one). What is the Caster and Kingpin inclination built into it and does the little set screw to hold the kingpins in place go toward the front? Thanks

cooling

A while back, I was looking at a new Japenese motorcycle (I think it was made by polaris) and read that it was oil cooled with a radiator just like a car. It set me to thinking,(which can be DANGEROUS because I come up with some really "scary shit"), has anybody out there ever tried replacing the water in an automotive cooling system with a lightweight oil? Like Automatic transmission oil or even inexpensive cooking oil for an experiment? Oil cools better than water (its used in tempering metals) but I don't know the boiling point of oil. It could be a solution for a hard to cool engine like the small block 400 chevy which has siamesed cylinders with no water jackets between the center two cylinders, or a t-bucket with a Pinto, Bobcat, or Jeep 4 cyl radiator. (They fit under a 'T' shell) The only drawback I can see is that if you ever developed a pinhole leak spraying an oil mist over the engine,in an enclosed engine compartment, and it ignited you'd have a bonfire on your hands, and if it had coated underneath the car I wouldn't want to be strapped in it. But in an open engine compartment like on a roadster or rat rod you would spot an oil leak immediately. I'm going to try that some day, 'cause I love to play with new ideas. Like one reader said, I come up with some "really scary shit!"

I am working on getting a Spirit body ready for paint. Some of the low areas by the mold seams are 1/4 inch deep. Looking for technique/materials to fill these low spots.

Thanks

Hello to all,
My question may sound a little dumb but since im running a ford rear end i dont want to use chevy hubs on the front. i am going to buy the 37 to 41 ford spindles and kingpins but i need to know if its possible to use some type of junk yard hubs to fit these spindles.
So far i got the frame done and i want to get it out of the garage and along side the house and cover it up to work on the motor thru the winter.Seems like room is getting to be an issue, maybe i need another and larger garage.
Thanks Guys

Good Paint Colors With Black Frame?

I am working on finishing a T project I bought 85% complete, the chassis is already painted black and I don't REALLY want to tear it down and repaint it as the chassis is complete, painted, final assembly, motor trans and driveshaft in. Anyone have a color suggestion that works with black frame??
My idea is paint the body satin black with torch red interior and red vintiqe wheels, have some pinstriping done on the frame and body but it still seems like alot of black,
Another idea is to paint it pearl white with red inside
maybe someone else has a suggestion that will look better

Thanks!
~B~

Anyone running water lines directly to heads, instead of using the manifold, thermostat, etc? Would appreciate any hints, what fittings you used, how'd it turn out, etc.

My T-Bucket has a '65 to '71 (the car was supposed to have been built in '71) Corvette rear end. I just discovered the right rear wheel cylinder is leaking. The wheel cylinder appears to be built into the caliper. Can i rebuild the cylinder or do i have to replace the whole caliper?
